5o Year Trail at Golder Ranch

As promised here are some pictures from the 50 year trail. Inevitably, the day that I bring my camera out clouds decide to roll through. Despite the off and on shadows I hope I have something that might give you a little motivation.

The sparse grass cover is just thick enough to create an amazing mossy green color. Its hard to capture, even with some photoshop tinkering.

Heading clockwise on the upper loop the climb meanders through some of these giant boulders.

Just enough quick descents are mixed in to break up the climb.

The top of the upper loop makes a strong argument that sometimes even the desert can be described as lush.

All that climbing earns you several drops through trench like switch backs.

And one last flat across the plain before heading back down for good.

The tight winding switch backs open up to a swoopy, at times screaming, downhill.

And back to the car. I’ve been getting a little adventurous lately and parking past the corral. Driving past the corral is NOT recommended for non – Subaru/SUV/pickups type vehicles. But it is kind of nice to get back to the car and still feel like your out in the middle of no-where. Anyone know where I can find a lift-kit for a Volkswagen?
